I’ve lived in the U. S. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, I have learned a lot about the world through school and some travel abroad. Now, however, I and my young family have left the U. S. for Grenada, a wonderful tiny island in the Caribbean. We arrived here 18 August, and I began my new job approximately two hours later.
I teach Business Administration to undergraduate and graduate students. I am ecstatic to be here. The students are dedicated, hard working, intelligent, and actually want to learn. I’m excited to be teaching here.

I came across your website while looking for some information on housing in Grenada. I was recently hired to work at SGU and am in the process of trying to wrap up my life here in the US and move everything down to the island. It was great to read some of your thoughts. I am excited about the move and scared at the same time!

Lisa,
Great to hear from you! Will you be working in DES? As you will very, very quickly learn, this island and the university function very much like a small town, so everybody knows everybody’s business.
I hope you love it here as much as we do. Please get in touch when you arrive. wharman@sgu.edu.
The one piece of advice I can offer for the move is to be pleasant and very patient with customs–and don’t expect anything they do to make sense. See you soon!
